The Making of "Lissa": Comics, Gender, and Medicine in the Arab world

Join us on Thursday, January 23rd from 4:10-6:00 pm in 207 Knox Hall to hear Sherine Hamdy (Associate Professor of Anthropology, UC Irvine) discuss her project Lissa: A Story of Friendship, Medical Promise, and Revolution and its portrayal of illness and disease amidst the Egyptian revolution alongside Lissa's illustrators Caroline Brewer and Sarula Bao.
